22ACT: CREATE A DOCTORAL SCHOOL

The Doctoral School of the Miguel Hernández de Elche University (EDUMH) will be committed the organization planning, and management of the teaching official doctoral and also  the official master’s teachings of fundamentally scientific content. The Universities and Higher Education Valencian Council was informed requesting the creation of the Miguel Hernández de Elche University Doctorate School (EDUMH), in its session dated February 28, 2022. The Agència Valenciana d’Avaluació i Prospectiva (AVAP) has issued the mandatory report.

Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) in order to achieve the widest possible dissemination. The following calls have been resolved in 2022:

  1. a) Margarita Salas grants training for young doctors.
  2. b) Grants for the requalification of official or contracted university teaching staff.
  3. c) María Zambrano grants to attract international talent.
  4. d) Mobility grants for researchers from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (financed with own funds).

24ACT: INVEST IN OPEN ACCESS PUBLICATION OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES

In addition to the investment in open publication calls from UMH. During the last four years and through its annual call, commercial agreements have been signed with publishers Elsevier, Springer, Willey and the American Chemical Society through bilateral or joint agreements with the CRUE and the CSIC.

 

27ACT: PROMOTE FORMATIVE ACTIONS FOR TRAINING IN INCLUSION, EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY

TRAINING/DISSEMINATION ACTIONS

During the year 2022, the training activity has been offered within the training plan: INCLUSION AND ATTENTION TO DIVERSITY. No. Hours: 12 (6 h quick courses and 6 h face-to-face). In addition, the training course “The gender category in research” 12 teaching hours has been carried out. Its main objectives have been: Provide fundamental knowledge, strategies, tools and practices that allow: Review our practice researcher; Create research projects or technological designs without gender biases and Incorporate and make explicit the dimension of sex-gender and the gender perspective in research.

28ACT: IMPLEMENT A SYSTEM FOR ASSESSMENT THE IMPACT OF EACH RESEARCH PROJECT ON THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs)

TRAINING/DISSEMINATION ACTIONS

The impact of research on the SDGs has been evaluated in the IRIU (University Research Responsibility Index) section, within the COIR form (UMH Office of Responsible Research form). It is evaluated from 1-5 points and is represented by a star badge. As a result, the different SDGs are weighted from 1-4 points and based on the total score of the SDGs, the impact is evaluated and the aforementioned badge is awarded. Regarding training, the course SUSTAINABILITY IN RESEARCH AND INTEGRATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS IN RESEARCH has already been announced, but it will begin in April 2023

In addition to the investment in grants for open publication that the UMH has been making over the last four years through its annual call (30,000 euros in 2023), commercial agreements have been renewed with the publishers Elsevier, Springer, Willey and American Chemical. Society through bilateral or joint agreements with the CRUE and the CSIC. In addition, the UMH together with other Universities has signed a new agreement with THE INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS, INCORPORATED (“IEEE”) with the aim of promoting open publications in the fields of technology and engineering.

The evaluation of 636 theses out of 684 of the register of registered doctoral students has been requested. 93% of the total have been submitted for evaluation. Of those submitted, 408 have been authorized (64% of the total).

– Tools to introduce the gender perspective in teaching and research.

– Inclusive language: tools and strategies for real equality between women and men.

– Strategies for the effective inclusion of people with disabilities (on offer, not yet taught).

In the new 2025-27 Action Plan, these training actions in these subjects will be promoted.
